Update planned

We hope that everyone who bought the game has enjoyed it so far! However, we have already received word that some things aren’t working quite as well as we hoped. We have thus planned a patch, containing the following fixes:

  • Multiplayer restart fix. The game slows down significantly when restarting Live games several times. The work-around right now is to exit the game to the main menu between each match – sorry :/
  • Fix trouble when switching between game modes.
  • Change button layout: Make RB a duplicate button for Jump and move down Show-Names to Y.
  • Add Presence to your profile, letting others see more in detail what you are doing in the game.
  • Make the screen size menu pop up automatically when you first start the game.

We have put all our other projects on hold until the issues are fixed and the new patch is out. If you have any feedback about other things to include in the update, feel free to post a comment about it.

Hi guys, glad to see you’re going to be doing an update – it’s always good to see developers putting in post-sales effort :)

Bought the game tonight but was sitting on the fence due to one reason and one reason alone, no MP in the trial of the game. As this game is surely crying out for people to play online I would have thought you’d have included that in the trial to get as many people as possible excited about the game? It’s very rare that I’ll have 3 of my mates round to play split-screen games and it’s also fairly rare for Indie games to have full xbox live support, you want to exploit this market to the max :)

One thing I found with the earlier community game Easy Golf (and it’s sequel Avatar Golf) was that by interacting with your community you bring a more personable side to the game and it might encourage people to get involved with your game. I usually lurk around a forum called AVForums.co.uk, there’s an xbox 360 area in there and within the Xbox Live Arcade section you’ll find a sub-forum for the indie games. You’ve even got your own special thread there ;) hopefully see you guys there, hope things go well in regards to sales and reviews.

Oh just while I remember, is there any reason in particular that there isn’t any background music during the game? I think the game could do with something other than just the noise of the weapons as it sounds just a bit ‘empty’ as it currently stands.

Maybe catch you online, cheers, Rorifett

D’Oh! Just saw that you can’t get network connection through ANY indie game trials, I didn’t realise this was the case, please ignore that part of my comment then! :D

Yup, you’re correct about the multiplayer part. We would love to have online multiplayer in the demo, but sadly it’s up to Microsoft. *Shakes fist in dispair* ;)

Also, FYI, we decided to cut some features from the update, focusing mostly on bug fixes and the screen size popup. This way we’ll get the patch out quicker. We’ll see about the background music, we’ve found that the game gets pretty noisy most of the time when playing and that the need for even more noise felt unnecessary. Guess it’s a matter of how many people you’re playing with.

Nice one, I look forward to the updated :)

Re BGM: As there wasn’t much of an online community whilst I was playing (there was myself and the one other person I managed to rope into buying this playing) there’s wasn’t a lot of background noise, as I say it just kinda felt a wee bit ‘empty’, undoubtedly when I manage to get a few more folk to get the game and we’re all shouting and swearing at each other I’ll not notice any BGM though :D I’ll keep the ears open and see how things go further down the line!

It’s a real shame about MS blocking the MP part of the game, I’m hoping word-of-mouth does the trick for you guys, really want to see this succeed a) so you can produce some more top-notch games and b) more seflishly, so I have more chance of finding games online :) cheers again fellas, Rorifett
